Exterra Termite Interception And Baiting System
Diam Pest Control uses a state-of-the-art
baiting system to stop termite infestations and protect your home from future infestations
by establishing a perimeter defense.
Founded in 1994, Ensystex is run by pest control
operators for pest control operators. Convinced by our professional experience that the
days of conventional soil treatment methods were numbered, we began analyzing new systems
for managing termites and concluded that bait products are indeed the future of termite
control.
Of the numerous advantages to baiting for
subterranean termite control, two are paramount. First, termite bait can suppress activity
by a termite colony that is consuming the bait. In fact, the cessation of activity
following long-term baiting leads to the conclusion that the termite colony can actually
be eliminated. The second important advantage of baiting is the dramatic reduction in the
amounts of toxicant necessary for termite control. The
culmination of this research is the Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System
featuring Labyrinth Termite Bait.
Station Placement
Termite bait stations are placed in the ground
around the exterior of structures in areas of suspected or likely termite activity. These
may include areas of accumulated cellulose debris (such as mulch), shaded areas and areas
of moderate soil moisture. Areas of excess ground moisture are generally avoided.
Water, Water
Everywhere
Unlike other termite baits,
Labyrinth AC is normally applied totally saturated with water. Being
continuously wet does not change its consistency, appearance or
effectiveness, however. Water has no effect on the alpha cellulose used in
Labyrinth AC because it contains no water-soluble components.
One-Shot Termite
Baiting
Labryinth AC enables quarterly
baiting. Completely filled, a Quarterra station can hold enough bit at one
time to completely eliminate a termite colony. No more twice-a-month bait
station checks to replenish bait as may be required with some other bait
products.
A-Multi-Insect
Platform
In 2000, Ensystex introduced the
Quarterra termite bait station, the largest termite bait station on the
market. For 2001, Quarterra has now been extended into a multi-insect
baiting platform. Baiting for four major pests, four times a year (4x4
baiting) in the same bait station is now possible with the Quarterra Total
Structural Pest Baiting Platform. This transformation is made possible
with an optional insert that permits the simultaneous application of
termite, ant, roach and cricket baits inside the Quarterra station.
ExScanner
ExScanner is the data collection and
display device used with Exterra. In addition to collecting use data, the
ExScanner provides technicians with information about the last five
inspections baited and when termites were last active in the station. All
this information ad more allows baiting technicians to make informed,
on-site baiting decisions.
Exterra Step By Step

1. Termites, uninhibited, find the dry wood of a home as an ideal food source. |
 |

2. Placing Exterra stations around the perimeter of a home acts as an interceptor between
the home and the colony. |

3. Once termites have found the wood Interceptor within the station, baiting can begin. |
 |

4. Labyrinth is added to the station. Because of its appealing texture, it becomes a
primary food source. |

5. As individual termites molt, Labyrinth's chitin inhibitor begins to take effect on the
colony. |
 |

6. The effect on the colony is complete. Bait stations are replaced to intercept any new
colonies. |
